6th October 2017: Turangi trout fishing report

Weather: 16 degree C (day), overcast light rain balmy.

Well spring has certainly arrived here in Turangi and the Trout Fishing remains great which is fantastic for the school holiday makers.
Consistent rain has had lots of back country rivers a little high for the opening weekend but still have had some great fishing reports from some anglers who managed to fish clear waters.
Trout fishing around the Turangi area still is producing some wonderful eating trout from all the rivers with the Tauranga Taupo and Tongariro river having fished very well lately and should continue ,we are slowing starting to see a few smaller trout arrive now on the rivers which have born early season great news.
May flies are out all ready and fish are focused and rising to them, we even had some brown beetles so next will be our Manuka beetle.
Strong fishing reports come from people fishing Lake Taupo trolling , jigging , harling early morning and evening has produced some of the best eating fish anglers say they have seen for years on Lake Taupo.

Cheers from Ken
