Mackenzie and Molly trout fishing Turangi caught some very nice Rainbow Trout fly fishing Turangi

Ken was excellent, extremely knowledgeable guide. My sister and i went out fishing with Ken for half days fly fishing day trip.
It was my first time fly fishing and Ken was very helpful taught us so much [proper form } motions ,info about currents , best places ect great time had.

Weather: 9 degree C (day), 5 degree C (evening), southerly wind, cold , snowing falling on Kaimanawa range

Fresh snow on the mountains and the Kaimanawa ranges with gusty cold winds and rain for the last 24 hour here in Turangi is just what the Ski Operators and fishing community of Turangi needed.
Good runs of fresh trout from lake Taupo will enter the rivers taking advantage of the coloured water from the rain as we get this heavy weather to make their annual spawning.
Reports of good trout being caught from the small stream mouths around the Lake Taupo fly fishing are still coming in.
Anglers fishing the Tongariro River mouth have had great trout fishing on calm days with some big trout in top condition taken fly fishing.
