13th September 2019: Turangi trout fishing report

Weather: 12 degree C (day), 7 degree C (evening), Overcast

With winter over and spring well on the way it sure is nice to have a little more warmth and sunshine here in Turangi. Turangi's winter spawning runs of Rainbow trout have been strong over the month of August with lots of happy anglers taking home some fantastic eating Lake Taupo Rainbow Trout. Strong winds coming up from the South island delivering lots of snow and rain to the central north island over the month of August sure was welcomed here in Turangi by anglers and skiers. Spawning trout will continue to run Turangis rivers for the next month or so after a good fresh of rain. With the Temputer on the rise we have noticed a few may flies about this sure is nice to see as fish are starting of focus on the dry fly all ready.

Cheers tight lines
