Weather: 9 degree C (day), 0 degree C (evening), Cold South Wind Gusty
Fresh snow fell overnight here in the central North Island blanketing the Kaimanawa range Mount Ruapehu Ngauruhoe Tongariro also Pihanga got a small dusting. The Tongariro river has fished well for anglers over the last week with excellent conditioned Rainbow and few Brown trout being caught.
Anglers appear to be catching Rainbow Trout a little larger than normal size in top condition this season in all rivers which wonderful to see. The Tauranga Taupo and the Hini are both holding lots of Rainbow Trout.
Good reports from anglers fishing the stream mouths also boat anglers are doing well. With rain arriving this Sunday another fresh run of Trout will enter all rivers streams.
Cheers tight lines
